Rarely does private equity/brand acquisition mean mind-blowing products. Seems to be a common opinion since the breakup with Roger Linn, and even moreso with the Numark acquisition. It's not that they don't have great people in the various geographical divisions that care deeply, it's just that the corporate dynamics aren't (allegedly/arguably) remotely aligned with achieving and maintaining an exceptional product. They make Roland or Canon look like Arturia or Tesla by comparison. Akai has, through its various corporate changes over the years, been consistently (allegedly/arguably) out of touch and behind the ball. But do measure your expectations somewhat. Good effort to compose this and get some community support behind you. Not gonna include disk streaming, if they did it on Force, they might be working on other mpcs too. Not gonna include more bugs, I thinks they are already should know the most important ones. Maybe sfx which shows stuff when in sfx edit screen, or maybe as a second Tuner window. It just may add too much bugs (knowing akai.) The letter will become similar to a wish list than a quality of life requests.Įven if it would be useful, I understand that it might be too much work for a code rewrite to be viable.
